Katy ISD Names New Principal for Beckendorff Junior High  

KATY [June 25, 2019] –  When the school bell rings to welcome the start of the 2019-20 school year, Beckendorff Junior High students and parents will notice a new face as part of their campus family. Today, Katy Independent School District Superintendent Ken Gregorski appointed Paul Moussavi as the new principal of Beckendorff Junior High (BDJH).  Mr. Moussavi’s possesses 19 years of experience in public education, which include roles as principal, assistant principal and classroom teacher.

“I am excited to continue the existing traditions with the Beckendorff Bears and to also create new unforgettable opportunities for our students,” said Paul Moussavi, new principal for BDJH.  “I have a deep understanding of how to educate a student from pre-kindergarten all the way to their senior year.  I look forward to creating a bright future for those who walk our halls,” added Moussavi.

Prior to his career in education, Mr. Moussavi served in the United States Army where he learned many essential leadership skills.  However, in 2000, he decided to join Katy ISD and has since spent his entire educational career with the District.  His first job was as a kindergarten and fifth grade teacher at Mayde Creek Elementary (MCE).  Five years later, he moved westward to Franz Elementary (FES) to take on the role of assistant principal.  In 2007, Moussavi transitioned into secondary level education as the assistant principal at BDJH and he remained with the Beckendorff Bears for five years.  His next career move would come in 2012, when he joined the Seven Lakes High School (SLHS) Spartans as their assistant principal.  From 2016 until this month, Moussavi served as the principal at West Memorial Elementary (WME).

Mr. Moussavi received his Associates of Arts, Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Arts from Alfred University in New York, as well as a principal certification from the University of Houston in Clear Lake.
