Cinco Ranch Branch Library Hosts Summer Family Movie Series

The Youth Services department at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will feature “Family Movie Day” — a free movie series for families with kids of all ages — in June. The movies will begin at 1:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

The movie series will begin on Friday, June 7. In this animated adventure film, video-game villain Wreck-It-Ralph must brave the Internet via a newly-installed Wi-Fi router in Litwak’s Arcade to help his friend Vanellope retrieve a piece to fix her Sugar Rush game. This movie is rated PG.

The series continues on Friday, June 21. This family movie is a newly released sequel to a classic musical about a magical nanny. Decades after her original visit, the nanny returns to help a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael’s three children, through a difficult time in their lives. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives. This movie is rated PG.

The movies are free and open to the public. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The library is unable to accommodate school groups or daycares at these activities.

The libraries’ licensing agreement for public showing of films prohibits them from releasing the name of the movie outside of the library.
