DETAILS: In its inaugural year, more than 18,150 shoppers made their way to NRG Center for the first-ever Nutcracker Market Spring Spectacular. With merchandise sales reaching $3.2M, and 11% of those proceeds plus all ticket sales benefiting the Houston Ballet Foundation, it was a successful first year for the Houston Ballet Nutcracker Market Spring Spectacular.

The Spring Spectacular hosted more than 160 merchants from across the country who brought with them a full assortment of seasonal items, apparel, accessories, jewelry, gourmet food and home décor suited to the warm weather months and spring and summer holidays. Serving as the sunny flip side to the highly popular Nutcracker Market in November, Spring Spectacular took place April 12-14 at NRG Center.
Of the 160 merchants who participated, 45 of them made their debut during Spring Spectacular. These first-time merchant offerings included pepper grills in fun shapes, colorful, handmade straw tote bags, gourmet foods for summer menus, floral décor, baseball-themed memorabilia, and clothing and accessories to refresh outgoing winter wardrobes.
Similar to the festive outfits Nutcracker Market shoppers sport, large groups of shoppers wearing matching Easter bunny ears and themed outfits were spotted as they perused the aisles at NRG Center. The space, which also hosts Nutcracker Market in November, was transformed into a spring wonderland with colorful décor provided by Kirksey Gregg Productions and a flower wall generously donated by The Round Top Collection.
Like Nutcracker Market, Spring Spectacular provides support for the Houston Ballet, its Academy and scholarship programs. Eleven percent of merchandise sales and all proceeds from ticket sales directly benefit the Houston Ballet Foundation.
