Library To Demonstrate Chilton’s Diy Auto-Repair Online Resource

Keeping your vehicle well maintained can extend its life and help save money on costly repairs. Fort Bend County Libraries has an online resource that illustrates basic maintenance steps that drivers can manage themselves to keep their vehicle performing optimally.

The Cinco Ranch Branch Library will have an introductory demonstration of the “Chilton’s Online Auto Repair Library” on Monday, April 8, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m., in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

The Chilton Library provides exclusive photographs, diagnostics, step-by-step repair procedures, wiring diagrams, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance schedules, recalls and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for automobiles and light trucks in one easy-to-use website. Domestic and import vehicle information is updated monthly. A vehicle Selector lets you search thousands of combinations of year, make and model covering the most popular vehicles of the past 30 years, as well as coverage of specialty models.

The demonstration is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Events,” select “Cinco Ranch Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-395-1311, or by visiting the library.
