Are you learning to speak English? Would you like some practice in a casual, informal atmosphere? Fort Bend County Libraries presents ESL (English as a Second Language) programs for individuals of all nationalities who would like a place to practice their English language and conversation skills.
Starting in February, the Cinco Ranch Branch Library will start a new monthly ESL Pictionary event. The first program will take place on Friday, February 15, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., in the Multi-purpose Room.
This educational game is a fun way for non-English-speaking students to develop a deeper understanding of the meaning of English words by conveying them through pictures. Participants divide into teams and take turns drawing their representation of a word and earning points by guessing the correct answer.
The next ESL Conversation Circle at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library will take place on Friday, February 22, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., in the Multi-purpose Room.
The Conversation Circles provide an opportunity for non-English-speaking people to gather in a relaxed setting, and discuss topics of their own choosing while practicing their English skills.
