Learn About The Language Of Flowers At Cinco Ranch Branch Library

Katy-area residents can celebrate Valentine’s Day by surprising their sweetheart, family, or friends with sweet messages using the language of flowers! Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program on “The Language of Flowers” on Thursday, February 7, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Multi-purpose Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

Library staff member Alison Allen will talk about the meanings of different flowers and the history of how people have communicated with each other with flowers. Those attending the program will have an opportunity to create their own secret message by arranging flowers in a tussie-mussie posy.

Materials for the program are provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library.

The program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Events,” select “Cinco Ranch Branch,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-395-1311, or by visiting the library.
