Katy’s Cane Island Reports Sharp Increase in 2018 New Home Sales

KATY, TX (January 9, 2019) – New home sales in Cane Island jumped an impressive 54 percent in 2018 as a growing number of west Houston families continue to discover the Katy community, its broad selection of new homes, resident-only amenities and ease of accessibility from Interstate 10 via Cane Island Parkway.

“Our buyers are busy families from the area who appreciate the convenience of immediate I-10 access,” says Lawren Eckhardt, director of marketing for the Katy community on Cane Island Parkway one half mile north of I-10.

Now in its third year, Cane Island offers new homes from the $200s to the millions by several award-winning Houston builders.  In 2018, more than half the community’s new home sales were on 50, 55 and 60-foot homesites.

“Very simply, we listened to what the market wanted – highly amenitized luxury homes on smaller properties,” says Eckhardt.

The community’s Cane Quarter also continues to be a popular draw for buyers, Eckhardt adds.
