Special Holiday-Break Activities For Families At Cinco Ranch Branch Library               

Families are invited to take a break during the December holidays with special events at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Families with children of all ages can relax and have fun with activities at the library, as they enjoy their break from the regular school routine. The schedule of activities is as follows:

  • Family Movie Day – Friday, December 21, 1:30 p.m, Meeting Room. Movie-goers will be treated to an animated family film starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and the whole Jim Henson crew. Academy-Award winner Michael Caine stars as the stingy miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who is about to get his holiday goose cooked in fun fashion by the famous puppet troupe characters in this fun-filled, musical event, based on a classic Charles Dickens tale. This movie is rated G.
  • Family Movie Day – Thursday, December 27, 1:30 p.m., Meeting Room. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale, The Snow Queen, this award-winning animated adventure film takes place in the kingdom of Arendelle, which has been cast into eternal winter by the powerful Snow Queen, Elsa. The queen’s sprightly sister, Anna, teams up with a rough-hewn mountaineer named Kristoff and his trusty reindeer, Sven, on an epic journey to break the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. This film is rated PG.
  • Family Movie Day – Friday, December 28, 1:30 p.m., Meeting Room. This animated feature stars Steve Carell as Gru, an evil villain who is determined to steal the moon. His wicked plans are thwarted, however, when he encounters the immense will of three orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has seen – a potential dad. This movie is rated PG.
  • Craft Carnival – Monday, December 31, 1:30-3:00 p.m. Families with kids of all ages will enjoy a variety of arts-and-crafts activities at the come-and-go event.

The activities are free and open to the public. The libraries’ licensing agreement for public showing of films prohibits them from releasing the name of the movie outside of the library.
