In celebration of Regency-era author Jane Austen’s birthday in December, Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program, “A Birthday Tea Featuring British Regency-Era Fashions,” on Saturday, December 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, in the Meeting Room at the Cinco Ranch Branch Library, 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.
Eide and Timothy Guerinot, members of the Houston Area Regency Society, will talk about how changes in clothing design related to the political and social aspects of the Regency era in which Jane Austen lived and wrote. Examples of clothing styles from the early 1800s will be available for viewing and discussion.
Refreshments for the event are provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch library.
