Cinco Ranch Branch Library Hosts Holiday Open-House Festivities

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will host a special Holiday Open House for families on Saturday, December 1, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays with music, refreshments, crafts, and a family holiday movie during this festive open-house event.

The activities will begin with a craft program — “DIY Recycled-Book Crafts for the Holiday” — from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Are you stumped for gift ideas? Searching for something different and unique for the book lover in your life? What about folded-book art that you can make yourself? Learn how to recycle old books into creative works of art!

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, enjoy light, wintery refreshments in the Multi-purpose Room.

Family Holiday Movie will be shown beginning at 12:30 p.m. In this 1994 family comedy, Tim Allen plays a divorced advertising executive who inadvertently becomes the real St. Nick when he puts on the Santa suit of the man who fell off his roof. This movie is rated PG.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Cinco Ranch Branch Library at 281-395-1311 or the library system’s Communications Office at 281-633-4734.
