Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital Again Awarded Pathway to Excellence® Designation

KATY, Texas (Nov. 6, 2018) – Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital was again awarded the Pathway to Excellence® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  The designation is given to healthcare organizations that create work environments in which nurses can flourish and feel empowered, and is a testament to professional satisfaction among nurses.  It also identifies best places to work for nurses.  Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital and TIRR Memorial Hermann also have the Pathway to Excellence® designation.

“It’s such an honor to continue our legacy as a Pathway to Excellence hospital,” said Linda Stephens, vice president and Chief Nursing Officer at Memorial Hermann Katy. “This designation is a testament to our commitment to support our exceptional nursing staff and recognize the contributions they make daily to safeguard the health and safety of our patients.”

For an organization to earn the Pathway to Excellence distinction, it must successfully undergo a thorough review process that documents foundational quality initiatives in creating a positive work environment as defined by nurses and supported by research. These initiatives must be integrated in the facility’s practices, policies and culture. Nurses in the organization validate the presence of the criteria in the organization through participation in a completely voluntary and confidential online survey.
