Learn How To Create Better Job-Search Letters At Library Class

Job-hunters can learn how to make their applications stand out from the rest with a special lunch-break demonstration at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library on Monday, November 19, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., in the Computer Lab of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

In the class, “Cover & Job-Search Letters,” learn how to use the “Tools to Get Hired” feature of the library’s “Job & Career Accelerator” online resource to create attention-grabbing cover letters for job-hunting, networking, and much more!

Staff from the library’s Adult Services department will provide an overview and demonstration of this easy-to-use online resource for job-hunters who are searching for the right job or a new career. Job & Career Accelerator helps job-hunters create professional resumés and cover letters, get detailed and current information on a variety of occupations, match personal interests and skills with a desired career, improve interviewing skills, and much more.

The Job & Career Accelerator resource can be accessed remotely at any time of the day or night from a home computer with an Internet connection. A library card barcode number is required to use this resource outside of the library.

The class is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (www.fortbend.lib.tx.us), click on “Events,” select “Cinco Ranch Branch Library,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 281-395-1311, or by visiting the library.
