WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement regarding the murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi:
“I strongly condemn the murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi. One of the fundamental tenets of our nation is a free press that cannot be suppressed by acts of violence. After weeks of evolving explanations, the Saudi Arabian government has a sacred obligation to disclose all of the facts surrounding the heinous circumstances of Mr. Khashoggi’s death. I eagerly await the details of a proper investigation to determine exactly what happened and support the proper steps to ensure justice is served.”
