Sen. Cruz Accepts National Federation of Independent Business’ Guardian of Small Business Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) this week accepted the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) Guardian of Small Business award.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and create hundreds of thousands of good paying jobs for hardworking men and women,” Sen. Cruz said. “NFIB works tirelessly on behalf of small businesses owners, and I’m honored to receive this award. My top priority in the Senate continues to be jobs and economic growth. All across Texas and the rest of the country, we are seeing a booming economy and a renewed sense of optimism. We are seeing people invest new capital, open new facilities, hire new workers, and raise wages. That’s the power of getting the government off the backs of job creators, and allowing folks to prosper.”

“The NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award is presented to Senators who truly vote as champions of small business,” said NFIB President and CEO Juanita D. Duggan. “Those who earn this recognition have been staunch supporters on the issues that are crucial to the success of small businesses, like making tax relief for small businesses a reality. Guardians of Small Business are the lawmakers small business owners can count on as advocates in Washington, and we’re proud to award these Senators the recognition they earned during the 115th Congress.”
