Aristoi Classical Academy Student Awarded Commended Status in National Merit Scholarship Competition

KATY, TX— An Aristoi Classical Academy student has earned the school its first Commended Status in the National Merit Scholarship competition. Henry Botond, a then-junior at the public charter school, was one of approximately 30 students to take the PSAT/NMSQT in its inaugural testing for Aristoi last spring.

In order to earn commendations, students must earn above the 97th percentile on the PSAT/NMSQT exam. Traditionally, less than 2.5% of students in the nation score above this threshold.

Competition in the National Merit program is very rigorous, and winners are chosen based on the abilities, skills, extracurricular accomplishments and potential for success in college and beyond. Recipients compete against more than 1.5 million entrants from nearly 22,000 high schools.
