Barker Flood Prevention                         

What: Barker Flood Prevention, an advocacy group purposed to obtain immediate and substantial flood control for Barker Reservoir, upstream and downstream, will host a community meeting to give updates on Harris County, Fort Bend County and US Army Corps of Engineers flood control projects being implemented and considered for our area.

Who:  Matt Zeve, Deputy Executive Director Harris County Flood Control District, Brian Gettinger, PE Black & Veatch Engineering, and Wendy Duncan, Director at Willow Fork Drainage District and co-founder of Barker Flood Prevention will present projects related to the Barker Reservoir, upstream and downstream, designed to restore existing infrastructure to original design and increase flood resiliency through new infrastructure. Brian Gettinger will be presenting information on the flood tunnel for which HCFCD is seeking a grant to conduct a feasibility study. Marlin Williford, co-founder of Barker Flood Prevention will provide the introduction.
