In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Taco Cabana will be shining its signature color of pink brightly, by partnering with Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization. For the entire month of October (10/1-10/31), $1 will be donated to the non-profit organization for every Loaded Queso sold at $5.09 (available at participating TC locations in Texas). Susan G. Komen’s goal is to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the U.S. by 2026. To achieve this bold milestone, Susan G. Komen is focused on two things: finding breakthroughs for the breast cancers that kill, and ensuring all people get the care they need. During its most recent fiscal year (2018), Komen invested an additional $26.18 million in research across 62 grants, bringing the total investment in research to more than $988 million since 1982. Susan G. Komen is currently funding 240 active research projects around the world totaling more than $156.8 million.
With funding, Susan G. Komen is investing in research that will lead to breakthroughs for new, more effective treatments. They are inspiring others to take action to help save lives in ways that are meaningful to them, such as through advocacy and public policy, education and local events. They are mobilizing the community to show compassion for each other through support programs, and opportunities to volunteer and make a local impact. And they are providing the care that patients need, helping ensure they have access to screening and diagnostic services, as well as support for treatment, including patient navigation.
For this reason, Taco Cabana wants its customers to know about this important initiative and take part in the cause from October 1 through October 31. For each Loaded Queso sold, not only will $1 be donated to Susan G. Komen but it will also be served in a keepsake pink football-shaped plastic container that is reusable and dishwasher safe, for guests to take home and honor their role in the fight against breast cancer. This special offer is available at all of its participating TC locations in Texas during the month of October.
