The Union Kitchen, Jax Grill Expanding To Katy In 2019

GR8 Plate Hospitality Announces Plans For New Locations

HOUSTON (July 18, 2018) – Paul Miller and Gr8 Plate Hospitality are bringing their popular Inner Loop concepts to Katy.

Miller, a longtime Katy resident, has signed a lease to open his sixth The Union Kitchen and third Jax Grill at NewQuest Properties’ Stableside at Falcon Landing, a 34.4-acre development at Gaston Road and Falcon Landing Boulevard in the Cinco Ranch area. The Union Kitchen will occupy a 5,000-square-foot space with seating for 450. Jax Grill will boast 4,000 square feet with seating for 350. Both restaurants will feature large patios with ample outdoor seating overlooking a shared green space.

Mark Boucher of Houston-based Boucher Design Group will design the restaurants, which will break ground later this summer. Charles Chapman of Corinthian Contracting, who built The Union Kitchen’s Ella and Washington locations, will oversee the buildout. Construction is expected to be completed by early 2019.

“The Katy area has been growing for a long time, and we really feel like with the demographics and the families that we have out here, it will be a good fit for our concepts,” Miller said. “We’re very connected and committed to the communities and neighborhoods that we serve, and we look forward to continuing that in Katy.”

Miller first opened The Union Kitchen, a neighborhood restaurant offering “Global Cuisine with Southern Hospitality”, in 2010. His most recent location on Washington Avenue debuted in 2017. He has owned and operated Jax Grill since acquiring the brand in 2015. Miller and his wife Doris were named 2018 Restaurateur of the Year by the Greater Houston Restaurant Association and Outstanding Restaurateur by the Texas Restaurant Association.

The Union Kitchen and Jax Grill’s neighbors at Stableside at Falcon Landing will include a recently-announced 121,000-square-foot VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa and 102,473-square-foot Kroger Signature store.
