Olson Promotes Deputy Chief To Lead His Team As New Chief

Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today announced changes to his staff serving the 22nd Congressional District of Texas. Beginning in July, Melissa Kelly is Olson’s Chief of Staff.  Bill Zito, Olson’s outgoing Chief of Staff, has departed to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Kelly was previously Olson’s Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director.

“It is my pleasure to name Melissa Kelly as my new Chief of Staff,” Rep. Pete Olson said.  “Melissa has been a valuable member of my team for nearly a decade with extensive experience serving the people of the 22nd District of Texas. She also brings a wealth of Capitol Hill experience to this position and our constituents will benefit from her experience, knowledge and guidance.”

“Bill Zito was a tremendous asset to my team and he will be missed,” Olson added. “His leadership and dedication to the people of the 22nd district of Texas will be sorely missed, but his expertise and dedication will be well served at FEMA. I am confident Bill will be successful in his next role – I wish him the very best.”
