Back to School Immunization Clinics

KATY [July 10, 2018] – Back to school is just around the corner and as parents prepare to send their children back to school, one item to check off the “to-do” list is their immunizations.  The Katy Independent School District Health Services Department in conjunction with other local entities offers immunization clinics at several district campuses and other locations in the area.

“The law requires that all students be as up-to-date as medically feasible on their immunizations in order to attend school,” said Katy ISD Director of Health Services Therese Highnote.  “Immunizing your child is one of the best things you can do to safeguard their health,” added Highnote.

Katy ISD follows the Texas Department of State Health Services recommendation for immunizations compliance for all students to attend school.  The immunization vaccine requirements for each grade level can be found on the Katy ISD Health Services webpage in both English and Spanish as well as a list of immunization clinics and their costs.  Exemptions to the immunization requirements are allowable on an individual basis for medical contraindications or reasons of conscience, including religious belief.  Before entry into school, the original exemption affidavit must be submitted to the school.
