Computer Help by Appointment

Monday, July 16   3:00 PM to 3:30 PM,   AND
Monday, July 16   3:30 PM to 4:00 PM
Reserve a 30 minute session to troubleshoot an issue with your computer, tablet or

phone. Or, learn how to download the library’s e-books or e-audiobooks to your device.

Please bring your device with you. Registration is required.

 

Passport Services
Monday, July 16   12:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Come to the library to apply for your passport or renew one. The person receiving the
passport must be present. Call the District Clerk’s Office at 832-927-5690 to make an

appointment or for more information. Walk-ins are also accepted.

 

Clay Workshop – Young Adult Program

Wednesday, July 18    6:00 PM

Get introduced to working with air-dry clay and learn more about pre-Columbian gold

artifacts in this interactive workshop. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to attend this

program. No previous experience is required. There is limited space available so please

sign up by calling 832-927-5590.

Mystery Book Club

Join us for our monthly mystery book discussion at the library. This month we are reading

Critical Mass by Sara Paretsky. Reserve your copy today! Or, check out an e-book or e-

audiobook through the library’s Overdrive collection. The mystery book club meets the

third Thursday of each month. New members welcome!


ESL Conversation

Come to the library on Thursday afternoons to improve your English speaking skills. We

will discuss several topics and enjoy conversation practice together. This ESL

Conversation class is free. No registration is required.

 

Savvy Stitchers

The Savvy Stitchers is a place to share ideas for different crafts such as knitting and

crochet! Don’t miss out on the weekly fun! Make sure to bring your needles and yarn. All

Writer’s Workshop with the Houston Writers Guild-Be Known, Standing Out from the Crowd

Writers Guild! Today the focus will be on making yourself stand out from other writers.

Children’s Activities

 

Lunch Bunch
             Monday, July 16 through Friday, July 21  1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
This is a special Summer Feeding program sponsored by the Houston Food Bank. We

are serving Free lunch to kids ages 0-18, we will also offer a lunch to the parent/caregiver

who accompanies the child to the program. Come enjoy a balanced meal and enjoy fun

activities at the library too!

 

Preschool Storytime

Tuesday, July 17   10:30 AM

Early literacy program with stories, songs, fingerplays, and the occasional craft geared

towards preschoolers aged 3-6 years old. In order to ensure the safety of our youngest

patrons, this is a ticketed program. Free tickets are available on the morning of the

program. First come, first served.

 

Summer Fun Program: Movie Singalong

Let’s beat the heat one last time with our final movie singalong. Can you guess this
movie?             She’s a bookworm with a father who is an inventor. He’s a beast of a man with

enchanted servants trying to help him to love and be loved in order for them all to be free

from the spell.

 

Infant Time

Infant Time is an early literacy program for the children ages birth to 18 months. Please

join us as we share literacy tips, stories, songs, fingerplays, bubbles and books. In order

to ensure the safety of our youngest patrons this is a ticketed program. Free ticket

available on the morning of the program in the library.

 

Community Storytime

Wednesday, July 18    2:30 PM

Community Storytime is an early literacy program for children ages 18 months to 6 years.

Come join us at Clay’s Restaurant, 17717 Clay Road, as we share literacy tips, stories,

songs and fingerplays. Each week this storytime will be an adaption of our library’s

preschool or toddler program. We want to thank Clay’s Restaurant for partnering with us

in providing community storytime.

 

Toddler Storytime

Lily’s Library Tales

Come to the library for a family friendly storytime with Lily, a certified therapy dog! This

program is in partnership with Tender Loving K-9s. All ages welcome.
