Katy ISD Appoints New Principal of Randolph Elementary

KATY [June 25, 2018] – The Randolph Retrievers Family has a new principal and it’s someone who already has close ties to this community!  Katy Independent School District Superintendent Lance Hindt appointed Michelle Gaskamp as the new principal of Randolph Elementary (JRE).  Ms. Gaskamp, who previously  served  as the school’s assistant principal,  will now become its leader.

“We have such an amazing, supportive learning community.  I cannot wait to continue all of the wonderful things that we already have in place,” said Gaskamp.  “I promise to continue doing whatever I can to make JRE successful in order to provide the best for our kids.  I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Randolph during the time I taught at Alexander Elementary. Now I am truly honored to serve the school that was named after him,” added Gaskamp.

Ms. Gaskamp’s acquaintance with the JRE community and staff as well as her 18 years of experience in education make her the perfect fit for this position.  She began her career in Alief ISD in 2000 as a teacher and in 2005 she joined Katy ISD as a teacher for the next seven years.  In 2012, she became the instructional coach for Language Arts and Social Studies at Wolman Elementary (RJWE).  A year later she was promoted to assistant principal.  It was in 2014 that she transferred to JRE to take on the role of assistant principal.

Ms. Gaskamp holds a Bachelor in Social Work from the University of Texas and a Masters of Education in Education Management from the University of Houston.  She begins her new position on June 25.
