Aristoi Classical Academy Student Receives Perfect Score On National Latin Exam

KATY, TX— An Aristoi Classical Academy student has received a perfect score on the 2018 Introduction to Latin National Latin Exam for the second year in a row.  Emma Watts, an eighth-grader at the public charter school, was one of 614 students out of over 22,000 who participated in the international exam to earn this distinction.  Last year, then seventh-grade ACA student, Ethan Miller, also achieved this rare accomplishment.

In addition, Aristoi Classical Academy students also earned seven Gold Summa Cum Laude, 14 Silver Maxima Cum Laude, 6 Magna Cum Laude, 6 Cum Laude, and 13 other high score awards on exams ranging from Introduction to Latin to Latin III, plus a score of Silver Maxima Cum Laude and one Magna Cum Laude in Latin Poetry IV.

As a classical school, Aristoi Classical Academy uses Latin as a vehicle to investigate the ancient world. Additionally, studying Latin extends each student’s understanding of English and allows an appreciation for literature and character. Latin is introduced in the elementary grades and then studied in earnest beginning in Junior High School.
