The Arc of Katy to Serve Lemonade to Support Teddy Bear Cop Program

The Arc of Katy, a nonprofit organization providing opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, began its 2018 Summer Program Monday, June 4th and on hand to welcome the participants was Katy’s own Teddy Cop, alias, KISD Police Officer, Luis Santiago.  Officer Santiago has become a friend of The Arc of Katy and The Arc of Katy participants are excited to help Officer Santiago with his Teddy Bear Cop program.

Officer Santiago works each year to raise funds to provide Teddy Bear Cops to children with special needs in the Katy ISD elementary schools.  The Arc of Katy Summer Program Participants are hosting a Lemonade Stand to raise funds to help purchase teddy bears and will begin dressing the bears in mini police uniforms so they are ready for delivery to the students with special needs in the fall.

The Katy community is invited to visit the Arc Lemonade Stand, located on the parking lot of The Arc of Katy, 5819 10th Street and Avenue D in the downtown Katy area.   The Arc of Katy participants will be serving ice cold lemonade on Thursday, June 14th, from 9:15 -10:45 am and again from 12:45 – 2:30 pm and on Friday, June 15th, from 9:00 – 10:00 am and from 12:45-2:30 pm.  All donations will go toward the purchase of teddy bears for the Teddy Bear Cop program.
