Washington, DC – Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s announcement that the U.S. will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal:
“President Trump made the right decision in withdrawing the United States from this flawed deal, which gave too much for too little in return. The agreement lifted Iran sanctions, only hit the pause button on their uranium enrichment program and included only limited inspection procedures. Iran has proven to be a nation that cannot be trusted. Departure from this agreement means we must start this process over and work to build an agreement that prohibits one of the world’s largest exporters of terrorism from becoming a nuclear power. Let’s get to work.”
