All are welcome to attend. The library is back open now after Hurricane Harvey caused its closure and the building was remodeled.

  ESL Conversation

Come to the library on Thursday afternoons to improve your English speaking skills. We

will discuss several topics and enjoy conversation practice together. This ESL

Conversation class is free. No registration is required.

Children’s Activities

Please join us at our special children’s program for Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month!  We are taking a break from regular storytimes this week to prepare for Summer Reading.

Seeds of Hope Children’s Art Program: Celebrating the Resilience of Japanese Americans During WWII

            Monday, May 21     4:30 PM

In celebration of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, children ages 8-12 are welcome
to join us for a special storytime where we will be exploring the Japanese internment

camp experience through the eyes of Mari. We will learn about Mari’s resilience through

difficult days and how she used art to help her find hope and joy in the midst of unjust

circumstances. Please wear clothing that is appropriate for painting or bring your own
apron.
