Teen Origami Program At Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library

Fulshear-area teens can take a break from studying and express their creativity with a special program for Young Adults, “YA: Origami Experience for High School Students,” at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library on Monday, April 16, beginning at 5:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.

In this Young Adult program, teens in grades 9-12 are invited to try their hand at building complex shapes with folded paper. Discover how delicate art forms can be made by twisting and folding paper into unique shapes. Those attending the program will also have an opportunity to watch a video showing folded structures in the natural world and how science is finding revolutionary uses for complex folds.

Materials for this program were made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library at 281-633-4675 or the library system’s Communications Office at 281-633-4734.
