Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Hosts Free “Caring for the Caregiver” Event & Expo

WHAT:  Patients with chronic conditions and their caregivers face many challenges that may impact quality of life for everyone. Join Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and connect with experts to learn about resources available to you and your family, including:

  • Supportive Medicine
  • Stages of caregiving
  • Financial and estate planning
  • Medicare Advantage
  • Elder law
  • Alzheimer’s and dementia

Refreshments, snacks, and light bites available for all guests.

Adult Respite Care:  Respite care will be provided at no charge for adults needing care while their caregivers attend the Expo.  Respite care is provided by Silverado.  Registration is mandatory.

DETAILS:              Kelsey-Seybold’s “Caring for the Caregiver” event and Expo will offer attendees the opportunity to hear from speakers on a variety of topics relating to caregiving. Speakers and topics include:

  • Dr. Deb Kern, Ph.D.: Maintaining Your Health and Sanity as a Caregiver
  • Dayna Steele, former radio personality, author, and advocate: Caregiver’s Survival Guide
  • Dr. Shira Amdur and Dr. Rupesh Nigam with Kelsey-Seybold Supportive Medicine and Vic Mazmanian with Silverado: Panel Q&A: What the Experts Want Caregivers to Know

Caregivers can also take advantage of the vendor Expo and Activity Zones, including: chair massage, yoga demonstrations, health screenings, and an “Ask the Expert” area with experts in elder law, financial and estate planning, and long-term care options.

Respite Care is available on-site through Silverado. Please indicate on your R.S.V.P. form that you will need respite care while attending the “Caring for the Caregiver” event. Silverado can’t guarantee respite care for those not registered.
