A Unique Place for Those with Early Dementia and Their Caregiver—

The Memory Café at Amazing Place

Amazing Place, in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Association, offers The Memory Café monthly in both Houston and Katy for those with early stage dementia and their caregivers to go together on Saturday mornings.

The Memory Café at Amazing Place is an opportunity for those with early stage dementia and their caregivers to meet others.

The Memory Café is a unique place where both caregivers and their loved ones can meet others dealing with dementia for casual conversation, activities and coffee.  Research has shown the benefits of stimulation and socialization for those in the early stages of dementia.  In addition, caregivers benefit from seeing they are not alone.

The Memory Café in Houston, led by Amazing Place Participant Program Director Emile Unverzagt, AD/TXC/MA meets the second Saturday of the month, from 10am-12 pm at Amazing Place, 3735 Drexel off Richmond near Weslayan.  The Memory Café in Katy, led by Ariana Detert, MSW, LCSW, meets the third Saturday of each month from 10am-11:30am at 20018 Chateau Bend Drive, Katy, TX.  The program is free to all participants.
