Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will present a performance by Houston Grand Opera’s “Operas to Go!” of a world-premiere children’s opera, Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers, on Wednesday, March 14, beginning at 3:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.

This family-friendly light opera, sung entirely in English, is recommended for children in grades 2 through 8. Inspired by Indian and Chinese mythology and the Bollywood style, this hilarious fable demonstrates the power of teamwork as a monkey prince and his brainy sister outwit a hungry crocodile to escape from the City of Tigers.

The program is presented with the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.

Seating is limited. A free hand-stamp is required for admission, and will be available one hour prior to the performance.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library at 281-633-4675 or the library system’s Communications Office at 281-633-4734.
