Katy, TX (February 15, 2018) – February 23 and 24, award-winning Encore Players Community Theatre of Encore Arts, formerly Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center (KVPAC), will present the inaugural production of Peter/Wendy, directed by the award-winning Joshua Shorejs. Show times are February 23 and 24 at 8:00pm and February 24 at 2:00pm. Tickets are $18 for Adults, $16 for Seniors (55+) and Students, and $12 for groups of 10 or more. The performances will be held at the Fulshear United Methodist Church, 8201 Harris St, Fulshear, TX 77441. We are delighted to be so warmly received in the wonderful Fulshear community.
In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, Jeremy Bloom strips the familiar story down to its emotional essence. Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily, and the menacing Captain Hook. A low-tech, inventive adaptation that pays homage to the darker themes of J. M. Barrie’s original, Peter/Wendy will mesmerize audiences of all ages. Peter/Wendy amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure!
In this inaugural production, Encore Players has combined with students in COMPANY Elite to fulfill eight audition only roles in the show. Director, Joshua Shorejs describes the cast as “delightfully funny and talented and very dedicated to the rehearsal process. While dealing with behind the scenes move of our theatre home, they committed to weeks of extra rehearsal. Through the process a new family was created. One that will certainly remain intact once the final bows are taken.”
