Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will present a special program on “The Art of Henna” on Monday, March 5, beginning at 6:00 p,m,, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.
Professional henna artist Sakina Khuzeima Jafferjee will talk about the history of henna and its uses as a dye to create temporary body art. Learn how it is made, how it is applied, and how to take care of the designs after they are completed. Jafferjee will demonstrate different types of henna designs while she explains their significance.
Anyone who wishes to try a henna design must complete a consent form. This program is intended for all ages, but those under the age of 18 must have a consent form signed by a parent before coming into contact with the henna. A consent form is not required for those who do not wish to come into contact with the henna.
This program is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.
