  • An open house celebration with interview and photo opportunities will be held at the center in Pasadena on Feb. 13

HOUSTON, Texas (Feb. 7, 2018) – MedExpress Urgent Care, a neighborhood health care provider, will open two new urgent care centers in Texas in mid-February. The centers are the fifth and sixth MedExpress locations in the state.

The centers at 4750 Fairmont Pkwy. in Pasadena and 22915 Morton Ranch Rd. in Katy will open Wednesday, Feb. 14. Both centers will offer free Winter Well Kits, which include lip balm, tea bags and cold and flu supplies, while supplies last, to help the community stay well this flu season.

In December, the company opened its first Houston-area location in Rosenberg. MedExpress plans to bring the same warm, welcoming approach to health care to more Texas communities this year, starting with a new center in Copperfield opening in March.

“We’re delighted to be an affordable, convenient health care resource for busy Houston-area families and employers,” said Ed Casaldi, Texas area manager, MedExpress. “We know how busy the world is today and what an inconvenience unexpected illnesses or injuries can be, especially during cold and flu season. But at MedExpress, we’re dedicated to providing patient-centric care that’s readily available – so our neighbors can get great care that’s fast, but never rushed.”

The centers will care for people of all ages, providing urgent care, employer health services and basic wellness and prevention services. Walk-in treatment is available for everyday illness and injury – including treatment for common winter ailments such as colds, flu, ear infections, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis and strep throat – as well as more advanced services including X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains. Local employers can use MedExpress for employer health services that include workers’ compensation, injury care, pre- and ongoing employment screenings, physicals and regulatory exams. Basic wellness and prevention services available include sports physicals, routine physicals and immunizations to help Houston-area residents maintain overall good health and wellbeing.

The Pasadena and Katy centers will have multiple exam rooms, a procedure room and an X-ray suite. The centers will be open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with no appointment necessary. MedExpress accepts all major insurances and offers affordable pricing for those without insurance. The centers will be staffed by a full medical team that includes customer service representatives, nurses, medical providers and radiologic technologists. As a community health care partner, MedExpress believes strongly in the importance of working with fellow community health care providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. When necessary, MedExpress can help refer patients within the broader health care system, including referrals to specialists, primary care physicians and hospitals.
