Cinco Ranch girls, Seven Lakes boys earn 19-6A swimming titles

The Lady Cougars opened the meet with a 200-yard medley relay championship and added silver medals in both freestyle relays. Aria Bernal had victories in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke.

Freshman Madeline Welborn won gold in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle. Junior Ellen Pack won the 50 free; sophomore Sophie Williams took second.

Cinco Ranch boys finished as runner-up in the boys standing. Junior William Coakley won both the 200 and 500 yard freesyles. Coakley, Seungjoon Ahn, Autry and Brayden Rudd took the team title with a time of 3:10.09 in 400 free relay.

The Seven Lakes girls clinched third overall behind the strong swimming of Danielle Hepler, Jessica Coakley, Sarah Lu and Beth McNeese. McNeese gave Seven Lakes a gold in the girls 400 free relay and also added a victory in the 500 free.

Taylor girls finished second and the boys earned third. Tompkins finished fourth as a team. Morton Ranch and Mayde Creek qualified individual and relays for the Regional Meet, Feb. 2-3 at the Don Cook Natorium in Sugar Land.
