FORT BEND COUNTY, TX – Fort Bend County Judge Bob Hebert celebrated 15 years of service with the County this week. On January 23, 2018,  Kent Edwards, Fort Bend County Human Resources Director, presented the 15-year certificate and pin on behalf of the County to Judge Hebert and his wife, Pat, who has been by his side for 56 years.

Judge Hebert took office on January 1 of 2003, and has presided over Commissioners Court during the last 15 years, managing the operations of the County.  During his tenure as County Judge, he has directed eight emergencies from major hurricanes such as Ike and Harvey to river flooding of the Brazos River including the ‘Tax Day’ and ‘Memorial Day’ floods of the last couple of years.

Fort Bend County has grown since 2003 from a population of 416,000 to more than 750,000 in the current year. Managing services for the growing population and building roadways to keep traffic in motion are items he and his Court have accomplished in the 15 years since he assumed office, while lowering the property tax rate from .538 cents to the current 2018 rate of .469 cents. County Judge Bob Hebert said, “Pat and I love Fort Bend. It is our home. It has been my honor and privilege to serve this great community for the last 15 years.”
