Richmond, Texas…The Volunteers of OakBend Medical Center are holding their third annual Power of the Pur$e fundraiser to raise money that will be donated to the ongoing renovation of the hospital’s Skilled Nursing Unit.
Each year, the volunteers donate money that has been raised through various events such as craft and bake sales and through the sales of popcorn, pickles and items in the gift shop. Over the past two years, the volunteers raised more than $25,000 at the Power of the Pur$e events to help with renovations of the only remaining portion of the original hospital.
This year’s event will take place on Thursday, April 5th from 11AM – 1PM at Safari Texas. The Power of the Pur$e event will include lunch and a silent auction of a variety of purses ranging from everyday purses to designer bags.
Melissa Wilson of Fox 26 will once again be emceeing the program. This year’s keynote speaker will be humorist and motivational speaker Ida Mae Fudpucker. Ms. Fudpucker made her first appearance in 2016 and is pleased to be making her return to support this worthy cause.
