Stay at home and off the streets this morning. Have a couple extra cups of coffee and relax under a warm blanket as we wait for this winter storm to pass. Driving is not a good idea this morning. Travel conditions remain hazardous across Precinct 5 and all of Harris County. The residual water from Tuesday’s precipitation has caused extensive freezing on bridges, overpasses and many surface streets, making travel nearly impossible across the region. The sun is expected to be out today but temperatures are not expected to climb above freezing until this afternoon. Do not be lulled into a false sense of security because the sun is out. Ice will remain on roadways causing hazardous conditions throughout the morning.
