Katy ISD Thanks Trustees During School Board Recognition Month

January 3, 2018 – January is School Board Recognition Month and Katy ISD is joining districts across the state to thank these community volunteers for their commitment and contributions to our public schools.

“Our Board gives their time and energy, without pay, and many times at the expense of their very own families, to provide guidance and leadership to the students, staff and community of Katy,” said Superintendent Lance Hindt. “In a climate of change and challenge, they develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues that affect the entire community and the lives of individual students.”The men and women serving Katy ISD are: Ashley Vann, president; Courtney Doyle, vice president; Charles Griffin, secretary; Rebecca Fox, member; Bryan Michalsky, member; George Scott, member; and Bill Lacy, member.

The Board of Trustees will be celebrated throughout the month of January, culminating in a special recognition and presentation at the January 22 Regular Board meeting.

“Great leadership always begins with a willing heart, a positive attitude, and a desire to make a difference. Please join us as we recognize these local leaders for helping us in providing unparalleled learning experiences for our students and for laying the foundation of the Katy ISD legacy,” said Hindt.
