American Marketing Association Houston Nominates Mercedes-Benz Of Sugar Land For Prestigious Award

Local Dealership Recognized for ‘Hot Laps’ Original Web Series

HOUSTON – The American Marketing Association, Houston Chapter, recently recognized Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land as one of five finalists for the Sysco Marketing Innovator Award at the 2017 Marketer of the Year Awards, which took place on December 4, 2017 at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

New to the Marketer of the Year Awards, the Sysco Innovator Award recognizes an individual or company for vision, purpose, resourcefulness and innovation with regards to marketing. To be nominated for the award, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land was asked questions about their marketing initiatives, the challenges they faced in their industry and how they worked together as a team and contributed to the overall success of their organization.

In August, Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land launched the original web series, Hot Laps, wherein each episode introduces the viewer to a unique Mercedes-AMG or McLaren vehicle, and utilizes the driving skill of Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land & McLaren Houston brand ambassador and professional race car driver, Kory Enders. With a local guest as his passenger, Enders pushes the car to the limits offering those riding along an introduction to the extreme performance and thrill of the dealership’s premier vehicles. First reactions and commentary are documented on camera for an entertaining experience.

“We’re honored to have been considered for the Sysco Marketing Innovator Award,” said Derek Brown, Vice President of Business Development and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land. “Through this project we aim to create engaging content which highlights our unique presence and the passion we have for our vehicles. Our team has worked incredibly hard to bring Hot Laps to life, and our success with the series has truly set Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land apart from the crowd.”

In addition to Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land, contenders for the Sysco Marketing Innovator Award included the Houston Airport System, the Houston Rockets, Equipment Depot and OpenStax at Rice University.

Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land recently launched its second episode of Hot Laps with guest host and Sugar Land Restaurateur Victor Litwinenko. The web series is available to viewers for free on Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land’s YouTube channel. For more information, please visit mbsugarland.com.
