Cinco Ranch Branch Library To Present Tips On Consumer Protection & Fraud  

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program on Consumer Protection and Fraud on Friday, December 8, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m,. in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

Designed to help potential victims of fraud, including area residents impacted by recent floods, the program will help people to recognize fraudulent practices before becoming a victim.

In the first half of the program, “Outsmart the Scammers,” Edward Jones Financial Advisor Leslie Corley will talk about red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter, resources that are available for victims of fraud, and steps one can take to protect oneself.

In the second half of the program, “Don’t Get Nailed,” Better Business Bureau Education Foundation Program Coordinator Lilly Chu will talk about screening for legitimate businesses and hiring a repairman.
