Harmony Again Recognized For Financial Performance Texas Education Agency Awards Charter System “Superior” Rating

(HOUSTON) Harmony Public Schools, Texas’ largest charter school network, is proud to announce that all seven of its districts again received a superior financial rating from the Texas Education Agency. The final results of the state’s annual financial audit were released Today (Nov. 11).

This is the third year in a row Harmony has received the agency’s highest financial rankings under the revised Charter Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). The 100-point scale assesses a district’s working capital, timely tax payments, and debt service coverage, among other factors. The ranking is designed to encourage public schools to use taxpayer funds for instructional purposes as much as possible.

“This is continued proof of our transparency and efficacy with state tax dollars,” said Fatih Ay, interim CEO of Harmony Public Schools, “It’s also a strong acknowledgment of Harmony’s commitment to maintain a standard of excellence in every area of our organization, most importantly providing the best education possible to Texas students.”

For the 2017-2018 school year, Harmony operates 54 campuses statewide with a total enrollment of 33,500 students.
