Cinco Ranch Branch Library Hosts Holiday Open-House Festivities            

Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library will host a special Holiday Open House for families on Saturday, December 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays with music, refreshments, crafts, and a family holiday movie during this festive open-house event.

he activities will begin with a special performance by the Spread the Music Association (Katy Branch), from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Members of the group will perform instrumental music with traditional Chinese instruments as well as western instruments.

From 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., get in a festive holiday spirit by participating in a variety of fun holiday craft activities for the whole family, while enjoying wintery refreshments.

Family Holiday Movie will be shown beginning at 2:00 p.m. Jim Carrey plays a cantankerous recluse who abhors Christmas as much as he hates the citizens of Whoville. Plotting to ruin their beloved Christmas season, he descends from his dreary dwelling in the peaks of nearby Mt. Crumpit to break their holiday spirit. His plans are foiled, however, when a little girl named Cindy Lou Who decides to befriend the unhappy man. Based on a children’s book by Dr. Seuss, this movie is rated PG.

This event is presented with the generous support of the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.
