Fort Bend County Libraries’ Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library will present a performance by Houston Grand Opera’s “Operas to Go!” of the children’s classic fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel, on Wednesday, November 22, beginning at 3:00 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear.

This family-friendly light opera, sung entirely in English, is based on the famous Grimm fairy tale, and was written by pop star and composer Engelbert Humperdinck. HGO’s adaptation of this children’s classic tells the timeless story of two children lured into the home of a wicked witch who is looking to fatten them up for a nice dinner.

The program is presented with the generous support of the Friends of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.

The performance is recommended for children in grades 2 through 8. Seating is limited. A free hand-stamp is required for admission, and will be available one hour prior to the performance.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library at 281-633-4675 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
