Get Tips On Making Healthy Mexican Food At Cinco Ranch Branch Library Program

Do you enjoy eating Mexican food that is delicious as well as healthy? Find out about ways to modify your favorite Mexican food recipe so it is even healthier at a special program, “Making Mexican Cooking Healthy,” at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Cinco Ranch Branch Library on Monday, October 30, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy.

Registered and Licensed Dietician Dianne Gertson will conduct a live cooking demonstration and sampling of Mexican dishes made healthier by substituting a few basic ingredients.

Gertson is the County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Fort Bend County.

Materials for this program are provided courtesy of the Friends of the Cinco Ranch Branch Library. Proceeds from the Friends of the Library book sales and annual membership dues help to underwrite the costs of special programming and various cultural events at the library.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Cinco Ranch Branch Library at 281-395-1311 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
