Project Walk Fun Run & Roll Build Hope in Paralysis Community

September 19, 2017 – (Houston, Texas) – “Thank you, Project Walk Houston, for improving the entire family’s quality of life, for TBI affects the entire family, not just the person affected,” says Mary Trichel, mother of current client at Project Walk.

It’s moments like these that empower Mark and Cindy Dremely.

Project Walk Houston experience many uplifting stories like the Trichel’s since their opening in 2014. Unfortunately, this opportunity isn’t available for everyone. While the activity-based recovery treatments at Project Walk have been shown to improve the quality of life in persons with a physical disability, it is not covered by most insurance programs.

“We don’t believe in turning away anybody,” says Mark Dremely. “We are a family here. That’s the bottom line. And if someone out there is struggling, you bet we are going to do something about it.”

Which is why there is a non-profit component to Project Walk. The Project Walk Foundation believes that the opportunity to experience the Project Walk community should be available to everyone – regardless of financial status. Funds are raised throughout the year, but at the Project Walk Fun Run and Roll, 100% of the registrations and funds raised will be put towards scholarships.

They’re set to bring their third annual Project Walk Fun Run & Roll to a new location this year, and they have high goals this year. Registration is open and is available here: https://raceroster.com/events/2017/12354/2017-project-walk-fun-run-roll

The 2017 Project Walk Fun Run & Roll will take place October 1, 2017 and will take place at the Constellation Field, Sugar Land, Texas. Every registration comes with a 2017 Project Walk Fun Run & Roll t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and entry to the amazing post-race party. More information can be found on their website at www.projectwalkfunrun.com

“Every year, we’re brought to tears,” says Cindy Dremely, founder of Project Walk Houston. “That our community join, no matter what challenges lay in front of them.”

The Project Walk Foundation is also pleased to announce their 2017 title sponsor VB Attorneys, who has graciously been a long-time supporter of their community for years.

VB Attorneys helps people hold corporations accountable for putting profits over safety. A premier personal injury law firm, VB Attorneys helps people and their families find new paths to success after they have suffered a catastrophic injury or death. About Project Walk

Founded in 1999, Project Walk provides activity-based recovery programs designed around industry leading research, training, and state-of-the-art technology to increase mobility in clients who have a spinal cord injury and other forms of paralysis. For over a decade spinal cord injury victims have had to travel across the world to participate in Project Walk’s program.

Project Walk inspired Mark and Cindy Dremely with their dedication to the community. The Dremely’s son, Brooks, was injured in a motorcross accident in 2013 – leaving him paralyzed from the chest down. After rehab and learning about Project Walk, the Dremely’s brought Project Walk to Houston and added their hospitality and love to the atmosphere. See how they started in 2015 Houston Chronicle Article

On top of the Project Walk Facility, the Dremely’s started a foundation that would raise funds for individuals who could not otherwise afford the alternative recovery program.  100% of the proceeds from the Project Walk Fun Run & Roll go directly to fund local clients looking for a new outlet. Find out more about Project Walk Houston on their website: http://www.projectwalk.com/Houston/
