No High School Sports gain this coming week;  

All sports, including football, cross country and volleyball will again be cancelled for all Katy ISD schools from the Sept. 4 – Sept. 9.

The new football schedule looks like this:

Sept. 14: Morton Ranch at Pasadena Dobie, at Pasadena Memorial Stadium, 7 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 15: Aldine Nimitz at Mayde Creek, at Legacy Stadium, 6:30 p.m.

Magnolia at Taylor, at Rhodes Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

Cinco Ranch at Memorial, at Tully Stadium, 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 16: The Woodlands at Katy, at Legacy Stadium, 6 p.m.

Seven Lakes at Foster, at Traylor Stadium, 6 p.m.

Tompkins is open Week 3, but according to athletic director Debbie Decker the Falcons will look to pick up a game if possible.

Decker said the first day for voluntary practices will be Wednesday, Sept. 6, when teachers are expected to return to work in Katy ISD.

Football coaches are working on lining up controlled scrimmages this coming weekend, Sept. 8 -10 to prepare for the start of their seasons the following weekend.

The Katy-Klein Collins game originally scheduled for this week is now a scrimmage on Sept. 8 at Katy. Clements will travel to Mayde Creek for a 10 a.m. scrimmage on Sept. 8.

The district openers for varsity volleyball teams, scheduled to take place Sept. 8, have been postponed tentatively to Sept. 12. Teams will start district play by playing their second district opponent initially scheduled. By Sept. 19, the volleyball district schedule is expected to be back on track in coordination with how the schedule was initially made.

Meanwhile, the High School Football America Texas Preseason Top 100 still ranks the Katy Tigers as number 3. Their top 10 list …

The Tigers’ “first game” against The Woodlands will be good test for Katy.

St. John XXIII begins their varsity football season when they travel to Lutheran South Academy for a non-conference game, Friday, September 8 at 7 p.m.

Faith West Academy’s six man varsity team has a home non-conference game vs. Alpha Omega Academy (Huntsville, TX) on Friday, September 15 at 7 p.m.
