“Little Lucy’s Big Adventures” By Theresa Broom

Young American immigrant gains appreciation for immigrants’ contributions to US in new book

Theresa Broom announces release first book in planned series, ‘Little Lucy’s Big Adventures’

ORLANDO, Fla. – Theresa Broom’s “Little Lucy’s Big Adventures: A Young American’s Exploits Through Time” (published by WestBow Press) is the first book in a planned children’s series designed to teach American history through inquiry, adventure and discovery. Through the eyes of Little Lucy, an American immigrant, readers are introduced to integral American stories.

Little Lucy is a curious fourth-grader with an appetite for discovery. Her innovative teacher is paramount in leading her and her fellow classmates on educational adventures that underline the culture’s beautiful diversity.

Broom explains that the series will expose readers to different immigrant groups, highlighting their contributions to the country. She adds, “Everyone who reads these books will walk away with a greater sense of appreciation and respect for the courageous immigrants whose stories are woven together as a tapestry rooted in the foundation of our American history.”

The author was partly inspired by her parents, who immigrated with their families to the United States when they were children. She hopes the book will remind readers that – regardless of one’s feeling about immigration – most Americans “can trace their ancestry to the courageous immigrants who made valuable contributions to our great nation.”
