Katy ISD Partners in Education Debuts ”Be Here Now” Volunteer Video

(Katy, Texas) ~ Katy ISD’s Partners in Education has officially released its 2017 volunteer video entitled “Be Here Now.”  Honoring this year’s Partners in Education theme, “Be Here Now” invites parents and community members to volunteer at one or more of Katy ISD’s 67 campuses.

Tompkins High School Choir Director Christin Reinartz not only performs the soundtrack but also stars in the video as well, accompanied by members of the Katy ISD Volunteers in Public Schools Executive Board.  Along with a cameo appearance by district superintendent Dr. Lance Hindt, fifteen campus namesakes are featured in the production:  Roosevelt Alexander, Gigi Bethke, Bob and Felice Bryant, Keiko Davidson, Jo Ella Exley, Mike Griffin, Bonnie Holland, MayDell Jenks, Sharon Rhoads, Patti and Fred Shafer, Patsy Stanley, Ursula Stephens, OD Tompkins, Ray and Jamie Wolman and Tom Wilson.

Last year, volunteers donated more than 1,056,073 hours to the students and teachers of Katy ISD.  “Be Here Now” is an homage to those volunteers, who hail from every campus and from a variety of volunteer groups.  This video is a call to action as the district’s volunteer program embarks on yet another ground-breaking year of service.

If you’d like to volunteer at a Katy ISD school, just contact your campus VIPS Coordinator or tammyrstringer@katyisd.org in the Partners in Education Department.  Whether 30 minutes per year or 30 hours per month, we want you to Be Here Now!
