Austin, Texas – Today, U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks dismissed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s preemptive lawsuit against Austin and Travis County over Senate Bill 4.

State Rep. Eddie Rodriguez issued the following statement regarding the ruling:
“America’s federal judiciary has shown the State of Texas that it does not heed the call of pandering politicians time and again. As policy chair of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus, I am confident that Judge Sparks’ ruling is but the first victory we will win against this blatantly discriminatory law.”
