“From Victim to Victor” By Cherie White

One woman shares how she went ‘From Victim to Victor’

Author Cherie White recounts a life of being bullied in her new memoir

GATES, Tenn. – In “From Victim to Victor: A Survivor’s True Story of Her Experiences with School Bullying. How She Overcame, Won Back Her Confidence and Found Peace and Happiness” (published by Lulu), author Cherie White shares her own story of what were the worst six years of her life, during which she was relentlessly bullied after moving to a small Tennessee town.

“Bullying and cyberbullying is a situation, which most victims can see no end to,” says White. “It is a feeling of entrapment, which is often the reason victims often consider suicide as the only way out. … In my experience, the torment got so bad that I attempted to take my own life at the age of fourteen.”

An account of everyday life from the perspective of a victim, “From Victim to Victor” highlights the cyclical nature of bullying: White herself became a bully to try and protect herself. The author hopes her story will encourage readers not to make the same choices she did, and to help them understand they can overcome the challenges they face without resorting to suicide or contributing to the problem.

White adds, “Too many people are still under the misguided impression that bullying is a normal rite of passage that all kids endure. It isn’t. What it is, is hurtful, damaging and can be negatively life-altering.”
